It's good not just for fans, but for people looking for something that takes advantage of the 3DS. Some sort of motivation for playing through each of the different titles would've been nice. There isn't much purpose to the up/down gyro controls, which is a shame."

Weapon-based attacks also don't really work well with the energy-ball attacks from your Guardian allies. The Guardians are cute and their long-range attacks are easy to use. However, that makes you rely on long-range for nearly all the battles. I wish they could work together better with the player's close-range attacks."
